Mike at Total Control is a lifesaver. Not only is he personable, knowledgeable and honest but he is an extremely hard worker. The Florida Keys are being swarmed by a pest I had never heard of, whiteflies, and they are quickly destroying all of our vegetation. All I knew before Mike stopped by was that my plam trees were very sick and leaking tons of sticky sap that completely coated my truck and everything else in my front yard. Out of frustration and ignorance I decided to cut down all 8 of my coconut palms. Fortunately I only felled one tree before Mike drove by, saw the problem and knocked on my door. He took the time to walk through my entire yard with me, diagnosed my whiteflies (I have 3 kinds) and offered hope for saving my palms and my sanity. He also taught me how to save my other plants and trees with soap and water. I signed up to have my 7 palms treated even though Mike warned me they might be too sick to save. A few hours after Mike's treatment I called him ecstatic, it looked like it was snowing as the pesky bugs literally dropped like flies. In 2 days the honeydew (which I thought was sap) stopped completely and my trees are rebounding nicely. Mike continues to stop by every few weeks to check on the progress and offer advice for helping improve the health of all my trees...and he does this free of charge. By the way conchs, whiteflies can be prevented by vaccinating your trees BEFORE they are infested, so give MIke a call before its too late.
