Established in 1986, Alcoa Engineered Plastic Components is an injection molding company employing more than 900 people worldwide. The company is situated on a more than 45-acre site located in Mattawan, Mich., and the facility provides for manufacturing a wide range of products for the automotive, telecommunications and medical markets. Its facility operates more than 15 injection molding machines with 5-ounces to 500-ton clamps, and a fully equipped in-house tooling department that supports the operation. Alcoa Engineered Plastic Components test capabilities include mechanical and thermal shock, tensile strength, vibration analysis, and combined temperature and humidity and dielectric testing. Its product inventory includes sealed and unsealed blade connectors, coinjections, insert molding, medical equipment, modular components, harness and connector retainers and telecommunications components.
