With more than 25 years of experience, Charly Nguyen, MD, FACS, performs all surgeries related to ear, nose, throat, head and neck. The surgical procedures he performs include: Ear surgeries: Myringotomy and tube placement, ear drum surgery with tympanoplasty for perforation of ear drum, mastoid surgery with mastoidectomy for cholesteatoma and mastoiditis. Nose surgeries: Septoplasty for deviated septum, and turbinate reduction for enlarged turbinate. Sinus surgeries: Endoscopic sinus surgery for nasal polyps, tumor or chronic sinusitis, and balloon sinuplasty for chronic sinusitis. Oral cavity surgeries: Tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, uvulectomy, tongue tie surgery, lip tie surgery, and tongue cancer resection Throat surgeries: Laryngoscopy with removal of throat polyp, tumor, foreign body, and esophagoscopy. Neck surgeries: Parotidectomy, surgery for removal of submandibular glands, lymph node removal, branchial cleft cyst removal, airway surgery with tracheotomy Thyroid & Parathyroid surgeries: Thyroidectomy for tumor, cyst, nodule , hyperthyroidism, and parathyroidectomy for hypercalcemia.Skin cancer surgery and reconstruction on ear, nose, face, scalp, and neck. Facial trauma: Complex facial laceration repair, and nasal fracture repair.The newly renovated ENT Clinic works closely with highly skilled and compassionate audiologists and speech-language pathologists to provide complete care. To stay physically healthy and mentally sharp at all times to keep up with the demanding busy surgical practice, Dr. Nguyen runs and bicycles competitively for. He trains daily by running five miles or biking 20 miles. On weekends, he doubles it up and does both. His effort has paid off as he has nearly won the Tour de Charleston twice in 2018 and 2019 and finished in the top 10 in the the Capital City Biathlon in Springfield in 2021.
