I met with a friend for lunch in Mebane. After parking and entering, we both experienced blatant anti lgbtq discrimination in this establishment. Next week, I’m a guest on WNYC for lgbtq history and have served on local Orange County commissions for human rights in the past. It does concern me that lgbtq people cannot walk into that restaurant without being made to feel very threatened by local bigots.
