The Middlesex Borough Police Department offers services for the protection of residents lives and property, as well as deterrence, detection and investigation of criminal activities. It supports a School Resource Officer Program that is a nationally accepted program involving the placement of law enforcement officers within the educational environment at different levels. The department maintains a patrol division that is responsible for answering calls, conducting preventive patrol, enforcing traffic laws, and addressing safety and quality of life issues. It also has a traffic safety unit that investigates motor vehicle accidents. The Middlesex Borough Police Department has been operational for more than 90 years and is located in Middlesex, N.J.
