Baber s operates a chain of rent-to-own stores in three states. Founded in 1959, Baber s began offering rent-to-own appliances and electronics to its customers in 1981. The company has nearly 50 locations in Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana. The stores employ more than 200 people. In addition to offering home furnishings, appliances, electronics, computers and jewelry, Baber s has provided tax preparation services, electronic filing of tax returns and refund anticipation loans since 1990 in each of its stores. Baber s is a family-owned company with its headquarters in Pascagoula, Miss.
