The owner was a nice interesting guy from Queens, NYC. I was visiting the town from England. Couldn' be anymore friendlier, had a good conversation and great food/ice cream. Chilled out set up, but maybe because the weather was particularly cold. Kids still seemed to be piling in to buy treats though.



Would recommend visiting if your in/travelling through Mullins.

The waitress was sweet, But once my husband and i finished our hotdogs, and was ready for icecream, i walked to the counter and asked (since we were already kind of stuffed) "Can me and my husband split one banana as a topping on our icecream cups?" To my suprise, the OWNER of the shop jumped in my face and said, "NO-No-No! We do not do that!! We ONLY put our bananas on our banana-splits and thats IT! We DO NOT change it because it will cause problems!" I was so shocked... He actually gave me this whole lecture about how he WAS NOT going to give us a banana to split as a topping. Honestly, I didnt care what he wanted to charge for that banana... It didn't matter to me. I felt completely attacked, almost as if he was trying to make me feel stupid- and it was his resturant and I was trying to mess things up. I will never go back to THE BIG DIPPER in Mullins, SC again!
