Provided by YPmobileWhen my home inspector found snake skins in my attic, crawl space, and basement, we had Critter Control do an assessment. The staff said they looked for and sealed up any entry points and placed glue traps in the attic and crawl space. They said as part of the prevention / treatment plan that I should call them later in the spring for them to replace traps and do a treatment on the outside of my home. The day after they did the external treatment, I saw a snake in my bedroom. I called their "emergency number" and no one called me back for 2 days! I caught the snake myself and kept it for them to identify. When they did come, they said it was a black rat snake and tried to figure out where it came in. They said it may have come in through a hole in the bottom corner of my storm door. I called them again when I saw (within a 5 minute period) 3 large black snakes crawl under my house siding. Their response time again, was very slow. The person I talked to on the phone said it was within their warranty period so I wouldn't need to pay for them to come. When their guy came, he looked at the areas of siding where the snakes crawled in and said he couldn't determine if they could enter the house from one of the entry areas. He said I should go around the house with a mirror and spray expandable foam anywhere snakes may be able to enter. Isn't that what they were paid to do when they came the first time? And second time? I asked if he would do that for me, and he said he would put down glue traps and in 3-5 days come and check on them and do the foam treatment. As I was walking with him to point out the area of my yard where I usually see snakes, we saw a big black snake crawling to the front of my doorway. I screamed and he ran to his truck to get his tools. When he came back, it had crawled into a gutter drain where it was almost impossible to access. Then I saw another snake... so he killed that one and came back to the first one, which he eventually killed. He said they recently changed their warranty period and the person I talked to on the phone gave me wrong information so I would have to pay for the visit. A week later I called and left a message, reminding them to check on the traps and do the foam treatment. Weeks have gone by and they never contacted me or did the expandable foam. I am disgusted by the horrible experience I had as a paying customer. If having a snake in your bedroom is not considered an emergency, then what is? It's completely unacceptable for someone to not even take the time to pick up the phone and call me back, even if it's to simply acknowledge they received my call and tell me they're too busy to come by. As rediculous as this snake situation sounds, they were hired to do a job and they didn't do what they were paid to do.
