This place is terrible. They put to much air in my tyres causing them to wear down and taking at least a year off their life. When I complained to the manager/owner , they denied doing it and the attitude of staff is disgusting. Basically they don't care. Very rude employees. Dont waste your time going there!

We have lived in Van Alstyne f...

We have lived in Van Alstyne for 25 years and were excited when this place opened. We have been in and out for oil changes over the years. I have had some positive and a few negative experiences (including loose oil plugs) there, but nothing so negative as to cause us to never use them, UNTIL NOW. . .

On a Thursday, we took our pickup in for an oil change and radiator flush. On Friday, radiator leaked ALL the fluid out of it. When we took it back, they assured us that that could not have possibly happened because of the radiator flush. They replaced the radiator as we were leaving town that evening to go out of state and we needed the problem solved and they said they would "help us out" with it. When we picked up the truck that afternoon (it was done in time), they said they knocked off 1/2 hour of labor. So the total was $400. Said we were good to go, that the radiator was under warranty and we would have no more problems. We did make it the 5 hours to our destination that evening. The next morning, we drove 30 miles and the truck overheated, burned up most of it's oil and lost all of its radiator fluid. We had to have it towed. Fortunately, the friend we were visiting's father was a retired mechanic. We had a hose blow off of the radiator and the other hoses were not attached tightly. One could moved three turns with your fingers! Thank goodness for our friends to bail us out of a mess that should never have been created in the first place. When we returned to Van Alstyne on Monday, we took the truck back up and let them know what happened. They denied any possibility of wrong doing, did not offer to make right the towing and parts that we had to purchase. Stay away, so many other good places in Van Alstyne to go and have confidence that the job will be done correctly the FIRST time

On Mon. went back to Kwik Kar. They said it wasn't because of their work. Didn't offer to pay tow, parts, other expenses.

I do not highly recommend this shop for your car care needs. They are very dishonest to their customers. I have personally seen them try to sell things to their customers that were not needed.

i am a lifetime customer

My Car stopped on the side of road and I could not start it. I towed the car to this location. They found the fuel fiter line was loose and no fuel was getting to engine. They fixed the line for free without any wait. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly and while I was yhere I checked their prices that were very reasonable.

Interstate Batteries

I had an Interstate Battery in my 2001 Dodge Intrepid that failed to keep a charge (Interstate Megatron 75 month battery) that was purchased in May 2005 according to the date stamp. I took it to The KWIK KAR in Van Alstyne, Texas on 7/12/2008 to get a replacement. I was told at the KWIK KAR that day they would have to check with the local Interstate Dealer on Monday to see what the Pro-rated charge would be because they did not know. I agreed. I recieved a call today 7/14/2008 from an employeee at the KWIK KAR and was told that the battery was not under warranty. I objected because the battery was only 38 months old and was a 75 month battery. The KWIK KAR employee again said that there would be no warranty allowance for the battery.

I immediately called Interstate Batteries in Dallas, who supplies this KWIK KAR with the batteries and was told that thebattery WAS still under a warranty and that I could get another battery with a pro-rate of approximately $1.75 for each month that the battery was used.

KWIK KAR simply did not want to bother with the battery and as a result has lost my business. I have lived in Van Alstyne for 3 years and have always taken my car to get routine oil changes and other repairs done when needed. I have been a loyal customer and cannot imagine why they are willing to lose me for approximately $45.00 - $60.00? It baffles me!

I apologize for the inconvenience but that was the information given to us by interstate battery. Every customer is very important to us and we try our best to take care of them. I would like to offer Mr. McCarthy to come visit us and I will make sure that all his requirements are met promptly.
