- Anyone who believes they have witnessed attorney misconduct — clients, members of the public, members of the legal community, and judges —may report that to the State Bar by filing a written grievance. To submit a grievance online, go to cdc.texasbar.com. The grievance form is available in English and Spanish and can be mailed to you upon request or downloaded from the State Bar website cdc.texasbar.com. The form is also available in any of CDC’s regional offices, through the State Bar’s Client Attorney Assistance Program (CAAP), and at courthouses, law libraries, legal aid organizations and local bar associations across the State. The filing of a written grievance with any one of the CDC’s regional offices initiates the disciplinary process. Texas attorneys are subject to discipline only if they have been found to have violated the ethics rules (Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct).
