Some months back I was going to start making my special Olde World Butter Toffee to sell in stores and on the internet. While coming up with the perfect recipe I found that like all candies it is imperative that the temperature is PERFECT. If you go much over 305 degrees it's burnt and much under it will not set up. The problem is that it gets thick and if you stir and hold a candy thermometer the pot starts spinning. If you clip the candy thermometer on the side it pushes itself sideways. If you use a clip and clip a digital thermometer, it touches the sides or bottom and gives a false reading. Well, I spent two weeks searching, trying to find something that will hold it still and away from the side and bottom as well as hold at an angle to stay out of my way of stirring. All I found was complaints that there was no such thing. Well, I went from cooking to inventing. I was mainly doing it for me but when I came up with this and had the prototype made I knew I had something.  I call it the Thermo-Clamp. The Thermo-Clamp is made of the highest quality solid 6061-T6511 Aluminum for strength and durability so it can be passed down from generation to generation.
