This is an unethical practice that will collect your credit card information at the beginning of your visit and charge added items to your bill without discussion. I went in for a cosmetic procedure that the facialist at TriBeCa Skin Center was promoting with Dr. Leo. During my procedure we were having a casual conversation about why I was there several years prior. At the end of my 15 minute appointment I paid the bill and without discussion or consent a month later they sent me a bill and charged my insurance for a medical appointment because we talked about my last visit which was a medical visit. I called several times but every person I was passed to had the same script that it is office procedure to charge for an additional appointment even though she did not disclose this to me at the time of my visit. My insurance company disagreed and is now investigating. And here's the kicker, several months later her office manager, Mike, decided it was okay to charge my credit card (and added late fees) without my authorization. I would warn everyone to stay away from this practice!

They charged my credit card $228 for an insurance deductible before waiting for my insurance provider to process the claim in full. When brought to their attention they were very rude and I was told to find my services somewhere else.



They had me put a credit card on file and had me sign a paper giving them the right to charge unpaid services. This is now standard practice in many offices, but all my other providers send me a bill for deductibles and allow me the chance to pay them.



I went in person to show them the paper work, they "immediately" refunded my credit card. One month later, I still have the refund receipt but my credit card has still not seen that refund post and I am now getting a ridiculous run around with the office management.



This place has gone downhill fast. I've been going for years on and off. Every time I go, I have a new doctor because the doctor I saw previously has quit. They have obviously hired a new management and accounting staff as well.



Run, don't walk, but in the other direction!
