The Norcross Police Department is a law enforcement agency that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and is certified by the State of Georgia Certification Program. The department maintains a staff of more than 35 sworn officers and over 10 full-time civilian employees who serves approximately 10,000 residents. It has a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, which specializes in bomb disposal and hostage and barricaded gunman situations. The department operates a K-9 team that performs duties related to building and vehicle searches, tracking criminals and crowd control. It additionally maintains a traffic enforcement unit that enforces motor vehicle laws. The Norcross Police Department is located in Norcross, Ga.
