I have a Home Warranty Plan with AHS. The other HVAC Company that AHS uses is NOT allowed on my property because I am fearful to have any further interactions with them based on the behavior of its owner and techs. Thankfully, Sierra was GREAT to deal with. I submitted my Service Request late at night on June 12th and they called as soon as they received the request from AHS the next morning to set up an appointment. They were able to get someone out to my house that day. The tech arrived on time. The repair was made in less than an hour. This saved me about $75 in hotel charges because had they not been out that day, I would not be able to stay in the house that night as it was in the 100s that day.

My air conditioner went out overnight on Friday. I called first thing in the morning on Saturday and the vendor was in our house by 10:30am and we were repaired and cooling down within the hour.

I reported my claim on Wednesday, June 10. It was Monday, June 15th before Sierra Mechanical could get me in. The technician was late and then proceeded to tell me that I needed a new furnace. I asked him to please also look at the A/C since that is what I was having an issue and he told me it was the furnace. He then explained that Sierra would contact HWA with the diagnosis and I should hear from HWA in the next day or so to go over the non-covered charges. On Friday, June 19th when I still had not heard from anyone, I call HWA and was informed that Sierra had not yet contacted them with a diagnosis. I called Sierra and asked why it was taking them so long to contact HWA and was told that they had contacted HWA but they contact a the claim authorization department and I talked to customer services which is why HWA was telling me that they hadn’t heard from Sierra. I was out of town from that point until Friday, June 26. When I got home on June 26th, I still had not heard from anyone so I again followed up Sierra. I was then told that the diagnosis was never called into HWA, it was an “over sight” on their part and that she would call it in the following morning. Monday, June 29, FIFTEEN DAYS AFTER the initial visit, I called HWA who then just called Sierra to find out what was going on. Finally the claim was approved and the new furnace was shipped to Sierra.

They came to install the new furnace on July 13th. It has now been over 5 weeks with no A/C and 90 degree plus weather. After the installation on July 13th, I had to leave town and didn’t return until July 17th. When I got back guess what, the A/C was still not working. I called Sierra and they said I had to call HWA to re-open the claim. They came out the following day and told me the fan motor was broke and they would need to order the part. AND they charged me another service fee which is WRONG because they still had NOT fixed the initial problem. Yesterday the new fan motor was installed so far the A/C seems to be working. Six weeks from the initial date of the claim being filed.

I urge you to please research Sierra Mechanical. I have googled them and come up with countless bad reviews of the same treatment. I also researched them on the State of MO Secretary of State website and do not see where they are even a licensed business. I also urge you remove them from your vendor list as I do not wish to EVER have them as a vendor again.

My wife and I have a home warranty through American Home Shield and they connected us with your company when our AC failed last week. Our call went out on Wed., July 10th and we made an appointment for a service visit scheduled for Friday morning. The young man who showed up was very courteous, but the news was not good. The condensor fan motor had to be replaced and, because our unit is an older one, the part would have to be ordered--it could take up to 5 business days for delivery. I asked when the order would be placed and he told me immediately. Later in the afternoon I called your office in the hope of getting a more specific (and favorable) timeframe for delivery of the motor and repair of the unit. As I travel for my job and my wife also works, it is quite difficult for us to arrange to be home during the week at a spur of the moment. The young lady with whom I spoke was quite courteous also, but could not be more specific with the timing because of uncertainty about whether suppliers would have the motor in stock. We hung up with me wondering how much longer we would be without our AC as the weather was predicted to heat up considerably.

As I sat working at my desk Saturday morning (July 13th) I saw a Sierra Mechanical Services van pull up and stop in front of our house--around 9:30 AM. Turns out that the young lady I spoke with on Friday put in an expidite request for the order and the shipping and managed to get it delivered in 24 hours (actually a little less). Our serviceman (same young man as on Friday) stopped by and picked it up and came straight over to do the installation. Both of the people with whom I dealt at Sierra were professional and courteous and went out of their way to solve our problem. We are believers in your company and your people. Thank you and keep up the good work.

I don't even want to give them 1 star. Customer service is the one thing a company controls and they fail miserably. It has been over 45 days since AHS assigned them to my AC issues. They have cancelled appointments on multiple occasions without a phone call leaving us waiting for them to arrive. Then you call and they need to find out why someone didn't show up. The first part they ordered for me arrived over a week after it was promised and was apparently the wrong part. The second part arrived after the promised date as well and has yet to be installed. Not sure if they treat their non warranty customers any different but beware!

Horrible company. The tech came out to see what is wrong with my AC unit. He did not run any diagnostic tests. He stayed all of 10 minutes. He wrote that he was at my home from 12:00 - 4:00. Clearly, he was not interested in working on my AC.

I strongly suggest that you find a reputable company to work on your AC and furnace. Run away from Sierra.

The entire job-from the time they showed up, removed the old furnace, installed the new flue, put in the new furnace and cleaned up- only took 4 and a half hours. I was impressed

Just this week, our AC died and we called in a claim. Our home warranty contracted Sierra Mechanical Services for the service call. Instead of sending out an experienced technician, Sierra Mechanical Service, sent out a sales person. This persons sole purpose was to lie and trick us into replacing our entire AC and Furnace. He made no mention of the possibility that it would be repaired and accused us of intentionally damaging the air foils ourselves.. I would assume that this representative of Sierra earns a commission on his sales. How unethical is that... we ask for someone to assess the AC unit for repairs, and we are subjected to unwanted sales pressure.. Instead of stating what was wrong with our unit, he spouted quotes that after some research were at least $1000 higher than other quotes that we received. So instead of trying to help us restore our AC, Sierra sent someone out to RIP US OFF. Our Home warranty company denied our claim based on this person deceitful report. We refuted what this con artist reported and asked for a second opinion. SO already we are out $50 for the service call.. I would gladly pay that again to never have to hear from Sierra or the con artist they sent out again. When the second technician came out earlier today, he was able to diagnose the situation accurately. WHY, because we actually researched the company. They were highly recommended on both BBB and Angie's list. Within an hour our AC was back up and running. So no surprise after we talked to our Home Warranty company, they overturned our declined claim. I would not recommend Sierra to anyone, all they will do is try to pressure homeowner into replacing their AC and furnace through lies and faulty work.

This Company has been working with my home warranty for my Furnace. They are unreliable, they took over a week to call to schedule an appointment, and once I filed a complaint with the Home warranty they stated they had been trying to call. Today is the fourth time they will be out in a Month and they are never on time and can’t seem to fix the issues. They are good at collecting a check but I think that is it.

My A/C was not working in the ...

My A/C was not working in the midst of summer. Due to my home insurance I had to use Sierra. Sierra sent someone to my home, but they could not fix the issue. The problem returned the same day. I called the insurance again. I advised that the issue remained. They set up another visit from Sierra. I called Sierra and was advised that they could not come until next week. If they had fixed the problem the first time...then I would not have had to get them back out again...and I would not be waiting over a weekend to get the issue resolved.
