LEARN is a regional educational service center that serves more than 20 school districts. Founded in 1967 by the local districts, it is one of the six regional educational service centers in Connecticut. LEARN serves more than 25 towns and communities with a student population of nearly 53,000. It works with schools, students, families and community agencies. LEARN is a public educational agency that is governed by a board of directors that comprises of one elected board of education member from each district. Its sources of funding are local districts, state contracts, grants, federal grants and private foundations. The agency also provides transportation services for regular education students and students with special needs.
