- A 1963 graduate of the Hopkins School (Founded in 1660), New Haven, Connecticut, Mr. Crowther is also a graduate of Stetson University, DeLand, Florida, having received three degrees from that institution: Batchelor of Arts (History), as a Distinguished Military Graduate, 1967; Master of Arts (Social Studies), as a Federal Prospective Teacher Fellow, 1969; and Juris Doctor (Law), 1974. He is a member of Phi Alpha Theta (History honorary); Phi Alpha Delta (Law fraternity), where he served as Justice and Treasurer, Brewer Chapter, Stetson College of Law; Pershing Rifles (Military honorary); Scabbard and Blade (Military honorary); and Sigma Phi Epsilon (Social fraternity), Stetson University.

- Mr. Crowther is a member of the Florida Bar (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law and Elder Law Sections), where he was admitted to practice in 1974. He was admitted to practice before the U. S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, and the U. S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit in 1976. He has received the highest possible rating from Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory (AV “Preeminent”, 5.0 of 5.0), which first began its rating of lawyers in 1868, and was named as one of Orlando’s Top Lawyers (2012), by Orlando Home and Leisure, in October 2012.
