This hotel is absolutely despicable. My husband and I stayed two nights here while enjoying a weekend away. He is in the Navy, and we asked about the military discount when making reservations over the phone. We were assured it was being applied to our reservation. Upon checking out, the bill was higher than we were quoted. I questioned it because I was told we were receiving the military discount and was told that the military discount was actually 15% more than the normal rate. This policy is promoted by corporate because they feel that most service members are traveling on orders and all costs accumulated will be reimbursed by the government (“And why not milk the government for a little extra.”). When I questioned the ethicalness of this practice, I was told that my place was just to accept our bill and not question it. I am still outraged. I do not believe that service members necessarily deserve special treatment; however, to view them as cash cows is absolutely despicable and repulsive and if possible, would give this hotel 0 stars. Unfortunately, that is not an option.
