Paterson Public Schools offers educational services to more than 25,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. It is one of the largest and most diverse school districts in New Jersey. The district operates over 50 elementary, high and adult education schools. Its schools curricula include English, math, science, social studies, language arts and physical education. Paterson Public Schools schools also conduct classes in technology education and fine and culinary arts. The school district coordinates a range of scholarship, academic support and career counseling programs for students. Its schools offer a variety of sports activities, including softball, tennis, golf, football, soccer and volleyball. The district s high school, the Garrett Morgan Academy, provides career oriented courses in the fields of transportation and engineering.
