Jakes Corner is a Very old fashion place. surrounded by the Tonto Basis one mile east of highway 88 on 87and eleven miles south of Payson. it is as though time has just sort of passed this small corner of the world by and left it in the 1880s . If you like good Beans and huge Stakes, corn on the cob and cold beer while playing Horse shoes and listening to some of the greatest Blue Grass bands I have ever heard. It was my luck to to meet one of my all time favorite country Banjo pickers, singers,song writers and novelist while visiting there. Mr Leon Wells. The old western front is so real you just want to trade your car for a horse and buggy and tie them up to the old windmill, tip your hat back and walk in and have a cool one.
