Established in 1969, Petaluma Poultry Inc. is a poultry processing and chicken raising plant. It is the first organic free-range chicken company to use trayless packaging in the United States. Based in Petaluma, Calif., the poultry firm specializes in natural and organic poultry raising practices. It offers branded products, such as Rosie Organic, Rocky the Range and Rocky Jr. The company offers hatchery, feed mill and packaging operations throughout Sonoma County, California, Santa Rosa and Petaluma. Petaluma Poultry Inc. received the Environmental Business of the Year award by the Sonoma County Conservation Council and the Industry Safety Award from the California Grain and Feed Association in 2002.
