Based in Portland, Ore., Outside In is a social service agency serving the homeless, low-income and uninsured adults and youth members of the community. Its homeless youth program is designed to help homeless youth with independent living. The center helps the Portland s homeless youths into stable lives through its transitional housing program. It provides its services to youths with a variety of problems, such as poverty, joblessness, alcohol and drug use and mental health conditions within their families. Its day program provides shelters, food, crisis counseling and activities that build job skills. The center s medical clinic offers the services of medical and naturopathic doctors, acupuncturists and Chinese herbalists. Outside In has received an award from American Health Care Systems for its caring services.
