I. C. Norcom High School was founded in 1913 as High Street School. The school serves students in grades 9 through 12. Its ore curriculum includes English, math, science, social studies and physical education. I. C. Norcom High School offers a variety of athletic activities, including baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball and field hockey. The school also provides classes in business education, information technology, foreign language and music. With an enrollment of more than 1,400 students, it maintains a media center that houses a collection of textbooks, encyclopedias, dictionaries, magazines, and fiction and nonfiction books. I. C. Norcom High School offers membership for Latin, Spanish, French, drama and chrome clubs. The school is a part of Portsmouth Public Schools, which also operates several primary, elementary, middle and high schools.
