Delta Dental of Rhode Island has been providing managed group dental benefit programs since 1959. The Rhode Island General Assembly established the organization as the Rhode Island State Dental Service Corporation. It became a Delta Dental plan in 1973. Delta Dental of Rhode Island is affiliated with the Delta Dental Plans Association. The association is a nonprofit organization, with some profit-based affiliates, that offers a system of dental health benefits for a range of employers both large and small throughout the United States.
