My sons aged 12 and 9 have been going to the Kumon center at Raritan for the past 3 years for math. I feel that they have benefited a lot - they are much more confident in school and have a very strong foundation. Kumon involves a lot of practice in concepts which are only touched upon at school but need more practice and reinforcement to be secure.

Even though Kumon is fixed program, our center instructor, Bhanu works with the parents to make the program somewhat customized based on the child's ability, time constraints and age. This makes it easier for the students and parents to stay with program.

My son has been in Kumon for little over two years now. This has tremendously improved his math and reading skills. As the math and reading are timed it might be a little difficult in the beginning till they get a hang of it. The center instructor Ms. Bhanu is a very knowledgeable person and can be approached her anytime in person or through email. She does one on one talks with the kids and update the parents when the need arises. She knows all the kids personally. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for Kumon for their kids.
