Sunnyside Elementary School is one of two elementary schools in the Red Wind School District. First opened in 1956, the school has approximately 500 students in kindergarten through second grade. The school added a second wing in 1966, and a new addition and extensive remodeling was completed in 1989. Sunnyside Elementary also offers before and after school child care through the Kid's Junction program. Red Wood School District has six schools in Red Wood, Minn., which has a population of 16,000.
