The company installed its first gatepost in 1975. A&D is founded by Art Hird, who still oversees operations and complex designs today as President. Over the years we have installed gates at iconic buildings like the Transamerica building and Apple Park and we have installed gates for iconic people in the music, entertainment and sports industries. As the company grew we expanded into two locations while expanding our capabilities in Redwood City and Tracy. Our project teams have installed over 4,500 gates throughout the bay area and as far as Arkansas. We still provide service to many of our original gates which have stood the test of time and still operate with full integrity.
