Both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the World Health Organization agree that Breastmilk is recommended exclusively for the first 6 months and continued for at least the first year of life. Although it would seem that breastfeeding should come naturally and easily for both mother and baby, all too often that is not the case. With the help of an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), you and your baby can be on your way to a happier and healthier breastfeeding experience. My name is Beth. I have been passionate about breastfeeding since the birth of my first child in 1992. I became a Registered Nurse (RN) in 1997 and have worked in Women and Infants services for over 14 years. Over those years I realized that not only was I passionate about breastfeeding in relation to feeding my own children, but the most satisfying part of my job was helping mothers, along with their support persons, to feel confident and comfortable with the breastfeeding process. One of the many things I love about being a Nurse is the many opportunities for growth and continual learning, I learn something new every day! In 2012 I decided to work toward becoming an IBCLC (Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant) so that I could specialize in the area of my job that I enjoy most. I am truly blessed to do what I LOVE every day! I would love the opportunity to work with your family in the privacy and comfort of your home to reach your breastfeeding goals.
