The company offers more than 250 types of brick in a full range of colors and textures as well as special shapes and details, a variety of landscaping materials and brick sculptures. In addition, General Shale also produces concrete masonry units and lightweight aggregate. General Shale has nearly 20 production facilities manufacturing more than 1 billion bricks a year. The company sales are supported by a network of more than 300 distributors in the U.S. and Canada, as well as numerous General Shale Products showrooms. It operates an office in Roanoke, Va., and is headquartered in Johnson City, Tenn. General Shale Corporation's corporate building is also home to a museum that showcases a unique collection of historically significant bricks including a 10,000-year-old specimen from the ancient city of Jericho.
