Model Middle School, with its campus in Rome, Ga., serves students in grade six through eight. The middle school has a library that has a collection of books that include fiction and nonfiction titles, as well as provides various databases, reference materials, magazines and newspapers. The academic institute has a counselor who emphasizes character and safety education, violence prevention, and tobacco, alcohol and drug resistance. It has various sports programs, such as basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, soccer, tennis, wrestling, and track and field. Model Middle School is a part of Floyd County Schools. The school also maintains a store.
