Filing bankruptcy can be a scary thing. My first contact with John was via telephone and after speaking with him, I cancelled my appointment with another bankruptcy attorney. When I had my initial visit, he took the time to explain everything and answer any questions that I had.After my consultation, I felt knowledgeable about the types of bankruptcy and the bankruptcy process. The process was painless. When I got to court I observed other attorneys walking around and calling out/looking for their clients. That was not the case for John and to me, that spoke volumes! He knew me and I knew him. There were several people who had never laid eyes on their attorney and once they met; they were hurrying off to some little corner to discuss what to expect during their bankruptcy hearing only minutes away! Thanks to John, I was prepared and knew what to expect. I have already recommended John to other people.

We LOVE John Caraker! If you're looking for a lawyers that is no bull, easy to understand, who takes the time to give you the straight talk about what you're getting into, Caraker is the man for you. He was for us! At no point did we see him check his watch for the next appointment, or 'check the meter' to try to charge us more. In the end, most bankruptcy attorneys are roughly the same cost, but Caraker gives it to your straight from the beginning - no hidden costs, no last minute surprises. Also - he seems to actually GET that you're broke! I'm amazed how many bankruptcy attorneys just don't understand that we don't have a lot of money! He never acted judge-y about our past bad decisions, and he made us feel at ease with the whole process, which is saying a lot for such a stressful thing. (PS: Don't let the address fool you - it's a really nice office in a nice part of town.) Thanks John!
