CHSM, also known as Children's Home Society & Family Services, is a nonsectarian, nonprofit organization that meets the needs of children, individuals and families throughout the world. Founded in 1889, it works with a mission to help children thrive, as well as build, strengthen and sustain individual, family and community life. The organization serves more than 35,000 children and families every year. CHSM s service areas include child abuse and neglect prevention, and early childhood education and adoption. It administers a range of domestic and international adoption programs. Additionally, the organization publishes Today's Child & Family, which is a magazine that provides information on new programs, partnerships and special events. Children s Home Society & Family Services maintains a presence in St. Paul, Minn.
