Sara L. Boswell, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in assessing and diagnosing neurological and psychiatric disorders. These conditions include learning and reading disorders (dyslexia), attention disorders, mood and behavioral disorders, and anxiety disorders. She treats children and teenagers, adults and older adults. Her practice also includes neurological testing for traumatic brain injury, concussion, cerebral vascular accidents (stroke), neurodevelopmental disorders, birth injuries, dementia and other neurocognitive disorders. She is part of UC San Diego Healths neurological assessment team and a lead physician with UC San Diego Healths adult ADHD services.Her research interests include studying the rates and effects of concussions in football players. Prior to joining UC San Diego Heath, she was a neuropsychologist at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Dr. Boswell has been a consultant for the San Diego Unified School Districts Head Injury Program and a board member of the International Dyslexia Association. Dr. Boswell completed postdoctoral fellowship training in adult neuropsychology and pediatric neuropsychology at UCLA, and was chief postdoctoral fellow in pediatric neuropsychology during this time.
