An excellent adoption attorney who has a sterling reputation but for the woman who keeps posting misrepresentations about her case. I have a letter in my file from the Texas Department of Vital Statistics dated January 6, 2016 as the first notice that the new birth certificates were ready to be processed.

She handled a step parent adoption for us. Hearing was June 12 2015. We paid her retainer and filing fees up front plus the fees for copies of documents upon finalization. Since the children were born in Texas she told me we would have to wait a while for the birth certificates to come back. That it can take up to 6 months.

I called her in 4 months to check the status of birth certificates. She told me again that it takes time and she would check on it.

It's been almost 7 months. I call her and no answer. I call around and get with the correct person with the state of Texas. He tells me that a letter was sent to my attorney on July 15, 2015 requesting the $94 fee and standard applications to process the amended birth certificates. SHE NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THIS LETTER NOR DID SHE CHECK THE STATUS WHEN I QUESTIONED HER 3 MONTHS AGO. If she had for some crazy reason not received the letter, then when she called to check into it she would've been told what need to be done. I had already paid her to handle this!! And yet I had to pay the fees again and send in the applications on my own. After which I was told it ONLY TAKES 10 DAYS to process. I've waited 7 months for something that should've been done within a month.

This woman is completely incompetent!! Do NOT consider her for legal help unless you want to end up doing the work yourself and paying extra!!!
