Provided by YP.comMake sure you have an alternate location in mind if you schedule a dinner party here. We made reservations for December 12th clear back in mid-October. Nancy was happy to take our reservations. After we had already mailed out the invitations we received a call from Nancy that they would not be able to honor the reservation because they had a 'Corporation' who had booked the whole restaurant. It was suggested that with the state of the economy they were sure we could understand. Where we come from this is no way to run a business. The customer is always right.

Provided by YP.comBritney did very well! Her willingness to help was very nice. She kept an eye out to avoid any catastrophes from happening.
I didn't think about not having coffee and/or tea offered with the birthday cake to well after the event because I am not a coffee drinker. There were coffee drinkers there, but no one said anything to me. But we had talked about having coffee. It would probably be helpful to have the connecting cable on hand for those guests who might want to use a Mac. It worked out for us because my son owned a projector and cable.
Again, we really have nothing but compliments for you and our time at Renee Kelly's. All of our guests have only expressed how much they enjoyed the event and the venue! I appreciate that you asked for feedback. It reflects positively on your thoroughness.

Provided by YP.comAbsolutely the worst customer service in history! I grew up in the Shawnee Mission area and I shared with my daughter the history of the Caenen Castle. I told her that someday we could have a birthday party there for her...she's been planning it now for 6 months. Several days after leaving a detailed voicemail regarding the date, time and the age and number of people attending, the owner, Nancy, called and left a voicemail that the venue was available after 6pm that evening for our small group of 8-10 girls; she even went as far as saying that she confirmed with the chef. I called back to confirm our reservation and she couldn't remember leaving me the message. She said that the they would not do an event for less than 20 people and would not do a party for anyone under the age of 18. When I reminded her about the confirmation that she had left on my voicemail, she rudely said that to be frank they just wouldn't host our dinner. I doubt they will be in business much longer, which is a shame because it's a beautiful and historical building. I hope the next owners are more successful and mindful of customer service.

Provided by YP.comI cannot believe they are still in business. The chef was not even available through our entire event. The owner, Nancy, seemed uninterested in taking care of us, probably because she was busy drinking. I would never go back. I'm embarrassed that this establishment is in my neighborhood.

Provided by YP.comFor the first time, my husband and I tried Bison, and we truly enjoyed ourselves. The Chef had the most spectacular wines paired with the courses. The staff was very knowledgeable with the courses being served, and truly a delight to speak with.
We are looking forward to attending all future events at the Castle. It was a wonderful time, with a relaxed atmosphere in a Castle.
