Having suffered head trauma in childhood, dentist visits often trigger PTSD symptoms. However, for the past 2 months, I’ve been experiencing severe pain on the left side of my face which led me to go to Dr. DeCicco for the first time. Her compassion, confidence, expertise, patience, professionalism, and gentle touch helped me feel relaxed and safe. She received my anxiety with the utmost respect and treated me with dignity and great care. She and her staff are polite, warm and genuinely invested in making their patience have a positive experience. They answered all my questions and explained everything to me step by step. Their encouragement and moral support helped restore my courage. Also, they provided me headphones that played relaxing music, a pillow for my neck, and sunglasses for the glare from the lamp above. The next day, I received a follow up call from Dr. DeCicco herself to check on me!
