Dr. Chagares graduated from Georgetown University, class of 1986 and obtained his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, class of 1990. Upon graduation, Dr. Chagares performed his Residency in General Surgery at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, New Jersey. Dr. Chagares has been in private practice for over 17 years and is affiliated with Monmouth Medical Center, Riverview Medical Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Bayshore Community Hospital. In addition, he is affiliated with several outpatient surgical facilities and nursing homes. Over the years, Dr. Chagares has received a number of outstanding awards for excellence in academic teaching, "Top Doctors" and Patient's Choice Awards.
