Provided by YP.comThis shop is a wonderful piece of yesteryear and getting your car worked on. Specializing in muffler and exhaust system work, they do other work as well. It's for all intents and purposes a "mom and pop" operation. Bill may own the business, but it's master Muffler Technician TIM SCHEIDEGGER who does the work.We phoned before making the trip to Topeka (We live in Lawrence; have a 2003 Buick Century with 103k miles on it, and the muffler was failing: Rust; a few pits from stones; and it was starting to get noisy. We were SHOCKED when we got price quotes from the "local" shops. The least costly was $150 from Downtown Muffler with NO warranty and a lot of efforts to upsell AND a refusal to install a muffler if we provided it. Meineke and Midas were both at around $250.00. We eventually found Bill's business listed via an internet search and made contact via phone.Bottom line: We were in and out (had an appointment) and $80.00 lighter which included all parts and labor and a lifetime warranty. As TIM noted, "I know the quality of my work" and that's why he is able to provide a lifetime warranty. Tim was friendly, professional, beyond fair, showed us possible issues for the future (none of which was work his Center does) and let us take our own look see while the car was on the hoist which created a wonderful opportunity to take pictures for future reference. He takes great pride in his work; builds and races car in his spare time and it was simply a thrill to find an old timey style auto repair shop with fair and honest pricing coupled with superior craftsmanship. We're pleased as punch. (We had the work done on May 4, 2015 and the 2003 Buick is as quiet as a church mouse).
