Philosophy Our design philosophy is simple...each parcel of land has a unique "micro-climate" which includes its solar exposure, topography, and environmental setting. The design of the building to be placed on the land must be responsive to the natural opportunities present. Concurrently, the client's program, ideas, personality and budget constraints are incorporated into our designs. The completed structure functions naturally providing a sense of place, comfort, security, and delight. Background The Architectural firm of Peter S. Gerdin was established in 1983 for the purpose of offering architectural planning & solar design services for projects in the Lake Tahoe area of Northern California. The scale & scope of the projects has grown steadily over the years and the geographic area in which projects have been completed now includes California, Nevada and Colorado.
