Dr. Haytmanek graduated Cum Laude from Wake Forest University in North Carolina with a major in chemistry and a minor in physics. Following his undergraduate experience he attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, closer to his hometown of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. After graduating Cum Laude from medical school he completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Duke University. He completed his fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado with Dr. Thomas O. Clanton. After finishing training Dr. Haytmanek moved to Boise, Idaho to join Michael Coughlin, an internationally recognized foot and ankle surgeon. He is moving back to Vail, CO in the fall of 2017 to join The Steadman Clinic. Completed research projects have been published in The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, Foot and Ankle International, American Journal of Sports Medicine, and Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy. His clinical interests include fractures, ankle arthroscopy, cartilage restoration, and sports medicine injuries to the foot and ankle. Ongoing research projects include hindfoot fusion nails, total ankle arthroplasty, and cartilage repair. He serves as a member of the US Ski and Snowboard medical team. Dr. Haytmanek is moving to the Vail Valley with his wife and two young daughters (ages 2 and 4). In his free time he can be found playing with his daughters, golfing, skiing, or reading.
