Founded in 1967 by Karl Amlauer, IPL specialized in radiation source production and custom source design. In 1999, Eckert & Ziegler AG, based in Berlin, purchased the company. IPL employs more than 100 people in several Southern California sites, including a manufacturing facility in Valencia. Isotope Products Laboratories also maintains corporate headquarters in Valencia.
