Thought it would be pretty expensive to get our roof done (would fit 18 panels), but they gave me the lease options which is like they own/operate the panels but give me cheaper electricity than PEPCO. I paid for the application fee (250$) and that was it. Not sure why anyone would not do it.

The installation went smooth, but the timing was a bit off. We received a couple of quotes from the other solar companies (Kenergy, Solarcity etc.) and SS guys came out slightly lower in price. We went with the purchasing rather than leasing. It is pricier than lease (lease is free basically) but we wanted to have our own electricity. We will update with more info later in the summer to let you know about the actual energy produced!

Originally, my neighbors got the panels installed from these guys and seemed pretty happy with it, so I decided to give it a try. Pretty painless process. Gave them a call, they sent me a proposal, then made an appointment so that they can actually measure everything and quote the price. In DC, its worth it because they give out a bunch of subsidies and they also gave me the leasing option. My husband and I decided to go with the leasing option. I didn't feel pressured at any point and they seemed pretty nice overall. Would definitely recommend them.
