The good: the tutors are nice and my son enjoyed going

The not so good: my son was going for English only, and I didn’t get the feeling he was learning what he needed for *right now*. What they were teaching was broad, which is fine, but my son is behind in English and needs to be focused on what he needs to pass third grade not every nuance of the English language. I did not want tutoring that sent homework home. I wanted the experts to help him with his work, but he was sent home each time with several workbooks approximately 15 pages.

The bad: When I came sign up for both English and math, and she wanted to have us wait until the new month started, and at first I was okay with that. But then I realized my son needed to start his math tutoring NOW. I emailed the owner and explained we were going to do English only there (I signed my son up for math at Mathnasium HIGHLY RECOMMEND). The owner said no problem. Well, the month starts and we’re charged for both English and math. I complain, she says she just won’t charge me for next month. Well, the two months we were there were Nov and Dec. Because of holidays and their incredibly limited business hours, there were weeks they were closed and didn’t offer make up times for tutoring. If I’m paying for a month worth of tutoring, I want a month worth. Before Jan. started, I emailed and said we would not be sending our son there anymore. She replied quickly and was nice, said no problem, payment would be stopped, and think of them in the future if he needed more help. Well, on Jan 1 the payment came out for Jan. I waited for it to post to my account, which it did, and then emailed her to let her know. TWO WEEKS go by with no response, so I email again. A couple days later she responds and asks for my address, so I think she’s sending me a check. Well it’s now Jan 25 and I have not gotten my refund from them. I will be surprised if I see that money again.
