Silas Deane Middle School is located in Wethersfield, Conn., and is a part of Wethersfield Public Schools. It educates approximately 600 students in grades seven and eight. The school s academic curriculum includes programs in language arts, mathematics, science and social science. Silas Deane Middle School additionally offers classes in art, computer science, music and physical education. It offers Crossroads, which is an after-school program that includes activities, such as jewelry making, babysitter training, bicycle maintenance, rocketry, photography and computer studies. The school operates a Parent Action Committee (P.A.C.), which organizes fundraising events, dance competitions, parent programs and student-parent togetherness activities.
