I needed to search online for Creative Fibers to add their address to my GPS. I have been a happy customer here in the past, but it's been a while. I was surprised to see a string of negative reviews here on the Yellow Pages website because I have always had positive experiences in the shop. I did drive to the store today and, again, I was not disappointed. I was greeted warmly at the door and was asked if I needed help. I showed the store employee one of the yarns I intended to use for a particular shawl pattern and explained that I needed a coordinating DK weight yarn in another color. She was very generous with her time, showing me around the shop and suggesting different yarns that might coordinate with the skein I walked in with. Once again, I was very happy with my service and with the many beautiful yarn selections I had to choose from. I live in Naugatuck, so the drive to Windsor is about an hour. I honestly think this is one of the best shops in the state with regard to size and selection of everything from yarn to pattern books to knitting notions.

Lying to Customers is Wrong

I will not return after being lied to by the owner. Her stock for certain colors in Malabrigo Rios was low so I asked to do a custom order. She got irritated and tried to tell me the yarn must be sgipped from Uruguay. No it comes from Miami where one of their many worldwide factories are. She turned bright red and told me she couldn't help me then. So I took my order to another store that had it in stock and I ordered a few extra bags from to make gifts.

I have so wanted to take a class here but i found the staff very unfriendly and very condescending to me and the questions I asked. I have been knitting for a long time but never tempted socks. They were not that helpful.. There are other yam shops!!

Carry quality products, but lack in customer service. Unfriendly, Condescending and snobbish each time I visit. Have spaced visits out assuming 'a bad day', always willing to give another chance...three visits, same results. My business lost forever.

WILL NOT GET MY BUSINESS

Will NOT go back!

It was not the selection of yarn, the quality of the goods, or the resources. These are good if you don't mind being watched like you are there to steal. My 3 children, my mother, and I drove an hour to get to this store. When walking in I explained I crochet but was learning to knit. My children were a little loud but they are very polite and well watched children. My daughter, who is 4, was playing with a stuffed lama while waiting for me to find the right yarn to make her a fall cardigan. Looking at the yarns I noticed the woman behind the counter kept staring at us. Once I found the yarn, I advised my daughter she had to put the stuffed lama away and she did leave him on the counter without a fight. My mom advised she was going to take the kids to the car while I paid. I bought my yarn and needles, asked about classes and left. Before I got into the car the woman who just rang out my purchase came out to ask where the stuffed lama was. Politely I advised that my daughter left it on the glass counter.

I do hope the owner, whether it was her who rang me out or not, reads this. You lost a potential customer and maybe more. Running a very successful business in the same industry, I know how to treat customers. The yarn I purchased was not only for a cardigan for my daughter but also for a pattern that will be going into a very well known craft magazine, a large community of knitters website, but also my own highly viewed blog. Please remember to treat others the way you want to be treated.
