Yelm Prairie Elementary School was founded in 1984 with approximately 450 students in kindergarten through grade six. The school presently also operates a preschool and serves more than 480 students. Its academic curriculum includes reading, math, social studies, science and English. Yelm Prairie Elementary School also conducts classes in music, band, art, drama and physical education. Its library media center offers fiction and nonfiction books, magazines, reference materials and encyclopedias. The school serves breakfast and lunch to students and employs over 20 classroom teachers and staff members. It is a part of Yelm Community Schools, which operates various elementary, middle and high schools. Yelm Prairie Elementary School is located in Yelm, Wash.
