Very dissatisfied. Staff were rude and very unhelpful. Tricked me into buying a broken game and wouldn't take it back. Wish I could do something more about this horrible company. Wouldn't send my worst enemy to shop there.

Classic Game Junkie is the bes...

Classic Game Junkie is the best game store you will visit.

They carry and display everything from the Magnavox Odyssey era to modern gaming, do repairs with a warranty, and give cash for trade-ins -- not to mention the atmosphere is extraordinarily welcoming, laden with unique gaming knick-knacks, great kiosks, a gaming lounge space, and they even have a cocktail arcade machine to play. You will be greeted by video game sounds when the door opens and a soundtrack that will have you asking, Wait, what game is that from? I know this!

As a store, what would make you a returning customer, or just friend?

Frank and everyone there goes out of their way to make the customer happy -- this is the center of the business. I've seen this in action many times, whether it's giving the customer a higher trade-in value than what's asked for, or prioritizing a repair for [usually excessively] needy customers. They want people to return, enjoy talking about games, and (Frank especially) enjoy making customers laugh. There are not many businesses I know of where visits from customers just to say hi are genuinely encouraged and wanted.

The story is quite amazing as well. What this store has become is the result of years and years of work -- it did not happen overnight. Frank started selling systems and games he refurbished in the heyday of internet sales, and always had a knack for electronics. Over the years what he was doing gained more momentum and became something larger. He had so much stored up, it necessitated a real location. He got the place on Easton Rd., expanded it when the consignment store next door moved to a different location, and here they are today.

Classic Game Junkie holds a special place in my heart not only because of how it came to be, but because they seriously stress all the good qualities of business. Not once have I ever felt like anyone was being pushy to buy something, and if I was indecisive it was understood and completely accepted. I'm happy to call them my friends, and Frank and the crew feel the same way. It's very human, and the family aspect is felt all the way through. This is as good as business gets, and I know this from experience.

Pay them a visit, they're great people, and are happy to help you out.

Classic Game Junkie where to begin!

Heard about this store around early 2010 and I thought meh it sounds like some gametrader store.

Boy, I was wrong!

This store even as I post this review, has an AMAZING selection. Whether you're a more modern gamer of games for the PS3,360, Wii/WiiU, a retro gamer from systems such as the SNES,Atari 2600, and the Sega Genesis. This store will have you covered.

With walls and shelves of loose and boxed video games reminiscent of video game stores such as the now defunct Funcoland, and rental stores such as Blockbuster and Hollywood Video. It's beyond rare to get a nostalgic feeling such as the one you'll get here.

One thing that makes this store more unique is that they can do repairs for consoles. And I don't mean only Xbox red rings, and basic issues like that. But for any console that you own, they will make sure you walk out happy with a working system. As a game collector, I try to make sure my games are 100% clean and fail sale, but sometimes I run into an issue that even looking on a forum can't help me with. However thanks to this awesome store, I have everything working to the best quality.

As far as prices go for video games sold here, they are very fair and usually the cheapest you would find anything on Ebay if not lower. They will make sure you'll get the best price possible for any game you wish to purchase ,even with retro game prices soaring. As a bonus they will make sure your game works before you leave the store very much like Funcoland used to do, which other game stores should enforce.

Now some people may say that "the workers are creepy and stingy " or something along those lines. That is far from true. The people apart of this store have been nothing short of very caring and helpful to me, both in and out the store. Open up to them, and they shall open up back with open arms. Now they have a lot of consoles and what you have its to fix, so have patience when giving something to be repaired, also make sure you take very good care of your consoles.

In conclusion Classic Game Junkie is the diamond in the rough in terms of gaming stores. Appealing to video game fans of the golden age of gaming to the current age. The People behind the counter at this store have at least some knowledge of what they're selling if they aren't they won't waste your time pretending they do unlike some other gaming stores out there. With that they will make sure you're walking out with what you paid for and that you're satisfied.Classic Game Junkie and the wonderful people who work here have never dissapoint me ever, minus the fact there's only one in existence.

I've been in this shop many times, the ambiance, the childhood memories, all of it just hits me in the face with pleasure. I recently went in there and traded in some old consoles and received more than I thought I'd get. The customer service is always friendly even if you're just going in to browse. If you haven't gone to Classic Game Junkie, then please head down. You'll walk out of that store happy even if you haven't purchased anything.

I went here to buy some old ps1 games and I gotta say they really had an awesome selection! Not just on these games but accessories , consoles, memorabilia , and much much more! The staff is really friendly and funny. Whenever I'm there I feel like I'm with my family that I can laugh and get along with. They also repaired my xbox360 awhile ago and they fixed it before the date they gave me! All in all this place is a must go for classic and modern game lovers!

STELLAR place to find hard to find vintage games and even the newer stuff!

Also, they FIX consoles! Although my interest is primarily in the older stuff, they carry the newer stuff as well.

Picked up restored Nintendo NES unit here that ACTUALLY WORKED! Didn't even have to blow into the cartridges to make them function!

I've been a regular customer since I first visited this business almost one year ago, and there is a reason for that. The service is fantastic! You are treated like family from the moment you walk in to the time you leave. If you leave that is! There is so much to take in! From the latest and greatest of gaming present to retro gaming goodness stacked from floor to ceiling. Not just games either! There is loads of gaming memorabilia; new and old!

The place is run by a husband and wife; Francis and Nicole whom I have had the pleasure of getting to know over the past year. Gaming is their passion, and I have watched them pour their hearts and souls into this business. Not only that, but they have basically made me feel like a part of their family! It is the main reason I keep coming back over and over again.

The atmosphere in the store is great! One can often find it full of customers; eager to talk about the games they love. Francis and Nicole certainly know their stuff as well, and are always more than happy to give advice or an honest opinion.

When it comes to buying games here the price is right! Francis and Nicole check their prices regularly. If a customer is ever in doubt, they will often show them prices for the same item from their competitors such as Game Stop. Also, no need to worry about being bombarded with ridiculous offers to sign up for some sort of exclusive membership, or subscribe to any magazine during check out. That does not happen here!

Overall, my experience here has been nothing short of amazing! I always feel welcomed, I always leave satisfied, and I look forward to coming here for all of my gaming needs for years to come!

CLASSIC GAME JUNKIE! What can i say. Ever since the old play n' trade shop directed me to this store I haven't gone anywhere else for retro games or even new ones for that matter. I started going to this place about 10 months ago and I just love it. Right when you walk in your greeted with a friendly hello from one of the employees there. They do whatever it takes to search for exactly what you need. The owner frank and his family are so awesome! Whether it's just getting the work done that you need or just talking about gaming and other random cool stuff, it makes me feel like part of the game junkie family.

You wont find any other place like this. Its video games galore! Memorabilia, retro games, new games, posters, candies, systems. You name it hes got it! One of the coolest thing i like is all the 8/16 bit Lego creations frank has made on display. It shows that this store is his price and joy and he puts so much amazing time, effort, and care into everything there, that's what really matters.

I personally buy more retro stuff here, but i tend to buy new things sometimes. At least once a week I pick up and old NES or N64 game that i remember playing as a kid and bring it home with a few buddies to try out. The owner makes sure you get the best copy of what your looking for, gives you a great deal on it and cleans them to make sure what your are buying is perfect. About 3 months ago my Nintendo system broke, i called ahead and he told me to bring it on in! I dropped it off gave them my name and they told me it would be about 1 week, 5 days later i got the call that it was done. I picked it up and it looked great, they even cleaned it and made it look brand new. They gave me a 1 year warranty in writing and I hooked it up at home and every game worked! The store does great repairs, fixes, customs and anything else you need .

My favorite part of the store is the retro 60 game arcade machine! I'll always gather up a lot of quarters before i go and get a buddy of mine to come with and have him play me in donkey Kong,Gyruss or any other fun game on there.I Could write so much more amazing things about this place, but you can just head over there for yourself. Great people, great service, great hangout, killer tournaments, good pricing and so much more! What are you waiting for get up out of your chair and check this place out!

BEWARE. You are much better ...

BEWARE.

You are much better off just buying a new system from a reputable dealer.

The short version: once they have your money, you are an adversary.

When Francis, the owner/repairman, fixed systems in a shed behind his house, it was a wonderful experience. You showed up for your appointment, he fixed your system while you stood there waiting, you paid 50$; it was simple, elegant, and worth it.

He opened this store a couple years ago and it seems the name of the store kinda says it all - imagine the kind of service you would expect to get from a junkie (think Trainspotting). Now multiply that by 3 junkies (yes, that gives you 3 junkies squared! That's how bad it is.) Wait, imagine 2 of those junkies never made it past 8th grade and speak a guttural form of English

This is how my experience went: The older fool who accepted my system, did not listen when I told him what was wrong (and when it was 'fixed', the tray open/close button still didn't work - a very obvious problem.)

They told me it would be done in less than a week. I started calling and texting after ten days or so and kept getting the message that I was wasting their time. They acted like they had no idea what I was talking about, left me on hold for extended periods...

I kind of gave up after a while and played ps3.

After about 10 weeks, Francis' wife called me and angrily asked me why I hadn't picked up my 360, especially after she left that message 8 weeks ago. She REALLY wanted to argue about whether she called or not. But I have an iphone, and with it, records of ALL of my calls and voicemails, and no one from that number ever called and left a message.

I went and picked it up. The older guy was there again.

A few months later i started having the same problem again. Then I got a red ring of death. There was a SIX month warranty so I called and Francis said 'Sure we can fix it!' and to bring it right in!

And here we go again.

He said it would take ONE DAY to fix. And a week went by. And another. I called after about 3 and his wife leaves me on hold for a while then tells me 'Oh. It couldn't be fixed.' I told her I was still within my warranty time and she had the greatest line ever:

'The warranty is only good if we can fix it.'

Two of my friends were there with me and I had her on speakerphone. We all looked at each other and started laughing. I then explained the concept of a warranty to her. She didn't want to hear it and tried to get rid of me. I asked to speak to Francis and while getting him 'accidentally' hung up on me.

Eventually, i got them to give me 60$ credit toward a used system, which would usually be 100$.

When I brought that system home, I found that the usb ports were a mess. It looked as though someone took a hammer and chisel to them. I called immediately. Francis picked up, apologized, and told me to bring it back and we'd get it right this time.

I did. but didn't bring my receipt. The wife and the older guy both acted as if they had never seen me before. When I suggested they flip back to yesterday's sales in their handwritten sales book they said something more inane than insane like 'We don't do that.'

I had to call the store from INSIDE THE STORE to get Francis to pick up. He tried to get out of replacing the system telling me they need the receipt. I said that I wasn't even sure I got one.

This guy went so far as to look at the surveillance video NOT TO SHOW that I was there but to show that they HAD given me a receipt.

After arguing for an hour, I got a working system. I left a game disc in the one I returned, though. I called and Francis assured me he would send it. That was over 2 months ago.

It's the little things, small courtesies that can really make a difference. They can overcome some major deficits. Most importantly, their absence can erase anything good.

Classic Game Junkie? Doesn't provide the big stuff, fails miserably with the little stuff.
