Provided by YP.comI shopped around in Northern Virginia, and Madigan's provided the best price for a catered reception. The site is smaller then most (comfortably sits ~75 people). It is upstairs from the restraunt, on the waterfront. Cathy is friendly and helpful. She acts as a coordinator during the reception for no additional fee.
I was impressed by the professionalism of her staff when serving throughout the reception. The food was wonderful.
A wedding cakes comes free with the site. I picked my style of cake out from a book (really nice on my budget, too). It tasted fine and looked nice.
She is a good friend with a DJ who has worked with her for over 20 years. You have to pay for his services seperately, but it was nice to find someone reliable so quickly.

Provided by YP.comDo not waste your time nor money at this establishment. We went on a Saturday afternoon, June 29, 2013, around 3pm, and the entire experience was disappointing to say the least. There were approximately thirty people, at ten tables, in the entire restaurant, and at least six servers working that I observed.
We were met by a seated hostess who seated us quickly. It was a bit over five minutes after before our waitress, Amy C., greeted us.
My wife ordered the garden salad, with no tomatoes, and I a Caesar salad. The garden salad was delivered with tomatoes and the Caesar salad s dressing was inconsistent. The lettuce was well coated with the dressing; however, there were portions that were almost watery while others were concentrated.
My wife order the pecan flounder with the sautéed vegetables, and I the captains platter with the garlic mashed potatoes. The flounder appeared fine and was cooked correctly, but the sautéed vegetables, that are supposed to be fresh, were limp and waterlogged proving they were most likely previously frozen versus fresh. Next the captains platter was a disaster all around. The dish comes with breaded scallops, breaded clam strips, beer battered shrimp, and a crab cake. The scallops were brought to the table extremely well done and had to be returned. When they returned they were still over cooked and inedible. The beer battered shrimp had no flavor and the shrimp was water logged. The crab cake was inconsistent with the flavor being good; however, the bottom was overcooked and extremely dry in comparison to the top which was prepared adequately. The clam strips were sufficiently cooked and although a bit bland was the best portion of the dish. Even the garlic mash potatoes were inconsistent with some bites being bland and some being over seasoned.
In addition the poor food the overall experience was poor. The server never approached us and inquired on the status of the food, or even to check-in . We had to get her attention when we required refills of our beverages and when issues occurred. I believe it is also important to note, when we were first seated the couple behind, us who was seated previously, had the same server; however, the server did not even greet them till after we were served and the couple complained to the hostess.
I observed the manager walking around numerous time throughout the evening. I did not see him speaking with any customer or assist in any way. After I returned the scallops I expected the manager would approach the table to at least apologize for the issue; however, this did not occur. The manager walked, at least twice, towards our general direction between the time I returned the scallops and the time I paid the check. After I paid the check I instructed the waitress to get me the manager. When the manager approached he appeared shaken and quite timid. I explain the situation, and all he stated was he saw the scallops and he was sorry. I informed him I was going to place a complaint and wanted him and the restaurant to be aware. He appeared to shrug it off, and simply provided another apology for the overall experience. At this time, my wife -- who is holds a culinary arts degree from Johnson & Wales University -- inquired into the vegetables. She asked if the vegetables were frozen or if they were fresh. The manager insist the vegetables were fresh, and when my wife inquired into the waterlogged vegetables he replied it might have been because the vegetables were steamed. First the vegetables were supposed to be sautéed and the only way fresh vegetables would be water logged is if they were sitting in boiling water.
The food was overpriced due to the poor quality and smaller than average portion sizes; therefore, the entire experience was extremely disappointing! I recommend you skip this restaurant and find one that cares about its customers, its food quality, and its overall reputation.

Provided by YP.comGroup of Occoquan residences decided to go to Madigan's Water front Tike bar for drinks (happy Hour) to enjoy the evening within our Community. All I can say is everything about the evening was destroyed by the Poor Service we received. We stopped going to Madigans Several years ago because of poor treatment by the staff and dirty Conditions. Nothing has changed, we won't go back.
