i had neck surgery. i was the most scared and in severe pain. im pain free and confident in the care of dr haines and his team.

I prayed for a great experience, a knowledgeable doctor/surgeon,health and wellness. God heard me and answered my prayers through Dr. Colin Haines and Virginia Spine Institute.
I had never had surgery and will never forget the answe rhe gave me when I asked him a question " I would tell her to do it"

Dr. Haines and his team at Virginia Spine Institute have been phenomenal! They have gone beyond my expectations in every way. Myself and my entourage, aka my family ;), have been treated as though we were family. From the receptionists, to the Medical Assistant, to the PA, to Dr. Haines himself we have been received the utmost respect, time, and attention. I can't imagine going anywhere else. I had cauda equina at time of surgery and praise the LORD and VSI's team I am doing amazing!

I have had constant neck pain for 10+ years. I saw Dr. Haines for a second opinion, but ended up using him as my surgeon. Everyone at the Virginia Spine Institute was so welcoming and made me feel at ease. After a thorough exam, Dr. Haines agreed I needed surgery, but had a completely different approach, which I felt more confident in. From pre-surgery visits through follow up has been such an easy experience. 3 months later I am finally pain free and so happy!

Years of annoying back pain, many doctors in my life time. Dr. Haines and VSI is the 1st time that I have been pain free in 40 years. Dr. Haines and his staff are extremely attentive, patient, professional and kind and their work is impeccable.

Dr. Haines took the time to provide explanations both surgical and nonsurgical. Above and beyond in total patient care. His team was on top of everything from start to finish and really made what should have been a intimidating experience smooth
and worry free.

My experience with Dr. Haines has basically been a life changing event. He has been able to reduced pain and provided me the opportunity to continue working and enjoy my personal life.

I am so happy that I found Dr. Haines. From the moment he walked into the room I felt comfortable with how he presented himself not only a doctor/surgeon, but how comfortable he made me feel about the situation with my back. He took the progression of how I should proceed and didn't rush right into surgery, which was good. After many months of trying various things to avoid surgery, I did have to have it and everything went more smoothly than I could have imagined. I would do it all again!

When I first came to VSI I was fed up with living with chronic pain. Dr. Haines was efficient, supportive, and made me feel confident in his judgement from the very beginning. Scheduling was handled very professionally, billing department was always willing to work with me, and someone was always available for me to call and discuss any questions or concerns that came up throughout the whole process. I am now living without any back pain and couldn't be happier!

Dr. Haines is wonderful along with the entire staff. They take the time to listen. Would not hesitate to come back again and refer family and friends.

Within two months of my accident over 3/4's of my symptoms have been eliminated. He gave me a clear course of action and I saw results almost immediately. He and his team are very attentive and give clear explanations for everything that is going on in my spine and the course of action for treatment. I would recommend Dr. Haines to anyone.

Dr Haines is a wonderful medical practitioner who actively engages with his patients. He is genuinely concerned about getting you back to doing the things you want to do. He got my shoulder back in working order with minimal impact to my training activities.

If it wasn't for the incredible team and the expertise of Dr. Colin Haines and everybody at Virginia Spine Institute I would not be back on my path to the career and life I want. After finding out my diagnosis of a severe disc herniation and knowing that it could lead to several other issues my only option came down to surgery. I was completely scared of the thought of surgery on my back but after talking to Dr. Haines and his team they helped comfort me in knowing my decision is the best one.

After 8 months of being primarily bed ridden and meeting with Dr. Haines, we found the experience exceptional in everyway. From the first visit, Dr. Haines and the team spent a large amount of time listening. Skipping ahead to the surgery, which was in 2 parts, immediately after the surgery, the relief was unbelievable. I quit taking all the extreme medications, within a day. Within a couple of weeks I was back to a reasonable point. It was like Iike I never had a back issue
