Dr. Rumley specializes in orthopedic spine surgery and treats cervical and lumbar deformity, degenerative spine disease, spinal trauma and adult onset scoliosis. The procedures he performs include total disc replacement, degenerative disc surgery, disc arthroplasty, laminectomy, microdiscectomy, spine injury, deformity and neck surgery, among other surgical procedures. Dr. Rumley completed medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO. He graduated Magnum Cum Laude and ranked 14th in his class of 250 students. He then completed an orthopedic surgery internship and residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, WA, where he was academic chief resident. After that, he served as Chief of Orthopedics, Podiatry and Brace Shop at Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning, GA, for four years. From 2019-2020, he completed an AO Spine Fellowship at Augusta University, Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta, GA. During that year, he was also an orthopedic surgery instructor at the Augusta University Medical Center. Dr. Rumley is a fellow of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Rumley’s research interests, projects and presentations while at Augusta University include “Outcomes After Non-Operative Treatment of Type II Odontoid Fractures in the Elderly,” among others. Dr. Rumley’s military service includes deployment with the 31st CSH Camp in support of Operation Spartan Shield. He earned the Meritorious Service Medal, three Army Commendation Medals and four Army Achievement Medals. Dr. Rumley provided team coverage as an orthopedic surgeon for the 3rd Ranger Battalion and the Ranger Training Battalion. Dr. Rumley grew up in Belvue, CO. He attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, camping and hunting plus spending time with his family. He is an avid Denver Sports fan!
