The Matrix crew/team were very professional, and friendly.The basement /work area was always kept clean.Everyday's work was cleaned-up.I was always informed about the schedule and plans.There were absolutely no surprises,project finished on-time,on-budget with great quality.The lead carpenter Don was absolutely great to work with and so was the Project Manager Brian and the Sales Manager Mike Zachary

We are extremely happy with our new Matrix basement. The remodel looks fantastic. Brian was a great Project Manager and Oscar did an excellent job. We are very pleased we chose Matrix. Our new conversation piece amongst family and friends.

Matrix Basements did a great job with our complete basement remodel. We were able to custom pick every thing from flooring, moulding and paint and we were also able to refinish our fireplace. Our project manager, Brian Westrom, was on the same page with us design and decision wise from the beginning. Our construction team was hard working and professional. The painters were also awesome at what they do and finished the work very quickly. When we ran into any issues we were always able to resolve the problems in a professional manner and communication was generally quite good across all of the teams we had in our house. Overall a good experience and the basement looks great! Looking forward to a dry, mold free basement for years to come.

Matrix performed the work quickly, in half the time that was quoted, but it took several more weeks for work to be corrected and brought up to the standard of quality that was promised. Brian was very polite and visited several times after work was "completed" to make sure we were happy and all items were corrected.

Matrix's innovative wall system is captivated us,

a guy named Victor was the greatest one among the Matrix's staff,

He was really very accurate with His profession,

They have an innovative product that provides great insulation and finish,

Their work was installed fast and worked around my schedule.

Always cleaned up after themselves everyday,

I recommend seeing an open house

because it really helped us visualize what we wanted to do with the space,

It was a big investment but well worth it. We love our basement,

I hardly suggest Matrix for everyone.

I went to an open house and viewed the system. I had an in-home consult where all of my questions and concerns were answered and addressed. We signed up and could not have had a better outcome. Was extremely pleased with all details. Crews were all extremely courteous, neat , and hard-working. I think the product, although not the cheapest is the best way to go for a basement and these guys are the ones to hire to do it.

Matrix was able to take all my ideas into account and bring them into fruition, with a great process from A to Z. From the Designers to installers I couldn't speak any higher of their professionalism and respect to my needs and home. I would recommend Matrix to finish any ones basement.

The finished product is beautiful! My 1970's outdated basement is now gorgeous! Oscar, our main installer was wonderful to work with;he is a great craftsman, personable,hardworking, and very conscientious. He cleaned up the work space nightly and took care of minor imperfections promptly. Having that said, there are some things to keep in mind. First off, please allow more than the advertised 1 1/2 hours for your initial consultation and note that if you sign on the spot, Matrix offers a slightly discounted price. If you prefer to have several estimates before starting a project,you might want to save Matrix for last to take advantage of the discount. Secondly, allow for some extra time for the project itself. The timing (and communication about it) of subcontracted work was sometimes delayed...windows didn't come in, flooring guy didn't show, etc. If you have had construction on your house before, I am sure you have experienced this. In the end though, Matrix did a wonderful job and I am EXTREMELY pleased.

We had about 850sqft of our basement completed by Matrix in June 2015. The project started on time and was completed on time as well. The carpenters cleaned up at the end of each day and we are mostly pleased with the finished product.



The two-star rating stems from the lack of communication between each person in this project. Our Project Manager came out to our house two times (the initial visit and the final inspection) and was over 1 1/2 hours late each time. He was completely rude and unapologetic. That attitude did not improve throughout the project. The Project Manager never once reached out to us - I had to call for updates and schedule my own final inspection. There were several times that the wrong product was delivered due to a miscommunication between our carpenters and this Project Manager. When we did speak to our PM, he was condescending and insulting.



Our only construction-related issue was the design of a "custom" bookshelf that we paid for. There was nothing custom about it; it looked like something that could've been purchased at Wal-Mart.



When we reached out to one of the owners/co-founders of Matrix, we were pretty much dismissed, his only concern being what kind of feedback/reviews I give this company. So my review is this - the quality is good, the price for some items is waaaaaaaay over-priced (bathroom, which we did not opt to do), and the communication/customer service is terrible. Matrix is mainly concerned with signing up as many people as possible and churning out the product (to the chagrin of their over-scheduled workers). I would not recommend this company to anyone, at least not under it's current direction/leadership.

Our project was supposed to start eight weeks after signing an agreement- it took 16 weeks to start. Our project was supposed to be near finished in ten days- after 15 days they left the job site and not a single element of the job was completed. They didn't come back for over a month.



The painting was poorly done so a general manager agreed to come fix the job until it was finished. He showed up for five days, and then listed numerous scheduling conflicts which kept him from returning. Again, not a single element of the project was complete.



We believe in supporting local business. In this case, Matrix Basement Systems has handled our job with disregard and complete rudeness. After another 6 weeks of back and forth now we decided to fire them. The entire staff we worked with treated us like we were the ones making the problems and the job was going well.



This is where what happened next really surprised us. My wife wrote a review on Yelp about our horrible experience. A representative of the company called her and told her to take it down. She refused. I spoke to him and he told me to take it down. I refused. He offered us a $200 gift certificate and /or a steak dinner if we would take it down. We couldn't do it based on the reality of our experience. They "reported" our review to Yelp as "someone who never did business with them" in order to have it removed ----- Appauling!!!



Stay away, keep your money and your sanity. Use a professional and reputable business. From our experience, Matrix Basement Systems used intimidation and scare tactics to control their reviews. I don't trust them.



We now have to hire a painter to finish and fix; order and pay for cabinets and install, a handyman to install backsplash & finish closet install and other small elements, an electrician and plumber. We paid 60% of the job and are left with a completely unfinished job. Buyer be aware.

Just completed basement remodel. Project planning and cost estimates were spot on...no surprises. The did an excellent job as the quality of work and attention to detail was outstanding...we couldn't be happier! Communications with project manager and work crew was very good. Project was completed on time. Highly reccommend!

We obtained several proposals for finishing our basement from various local contractors. After visiting a couple of Matrix Basement open houses, where we could see an actual representation of their product and workmanship and hear from the homeowners about their experience with Matrix, we also asked for a proposal from them. We are glad we did. I think we ended up with a beautiful, functional basement with a guarantee that we can pass on to the next owner of our home.



The basement finishing project started off a little bumpy. The original project leader had issues that kept him from showing up on a regular basis, and there were also issues with the quality of his work, but Brian, one of the company's owners, came out immediately, assigned a new crew to the job and it was smooth sailing from then on. Peter, the new crew leader, and his guys worked from 7am until 5 or 6pm every day. They protected the parts of the basement that weren't being finished from any dust created during construction. They demo'd the previous sub-perfect work and then proceeded to do flawless work in creating the space we desired. In the end, we ended up with a BEAUTIFUL, HIGH QUALITY JOB.



All throughout the process, Mike (who did the original sales presentation and proposal) and Brian (the owner) were involved and communicated with us to ensure things were on track and up to par. The job took a little longer than originally anticipated, but it was worth it. Friends who have seen the transformation have been very complimentary.



We are fortunate to have a second stairway/entrance to the basement through the garage. We felt very comfortable with Peter and his crew, and gave him a code to open the garage. That way they could get to work every morning without having to bother us. We both actually left town on business trips twice, and allowed the guys to keep working while we were gone.



We were very pleased with the two electricians who did the wiring, and also the HVAC guys who moved and reconfigured some ductwork to keep the ceilings high. They were all very knowledgable and conscientious.



Overall, we are very pleased with the final product and all those at Matrix who worked to get the job done. My friends and family will confirm that I am very picky and detail-oriented and also very honest. I'm not sure what the deal is with some of these negative reviews. I would and do recommend Matrix Basement Systems without hesitation.

We are very satisfied with the work Matrix Basements did for our basement remodel. At the initial presentation meeting we put together a plan that we later decided was a bit more expensive than we wanted to go. Matrix was completely on board with us adjusting the plan to fit in our budget. All of the Matrix personnel we dealt with were professional and easy to work with. We were especially happy with the carpentry work that Joe and Louis did, they were the crew that completed most of our job. Joe was great about pointing out a few minor changes to make as the job progressed. We would definitely recommend giving Matrix a call if you’re considering a basement finishing.

We hired Matrix to do just our basement walls. The architect was VERY helpful, walking us through some DIY tips when working with their basement system that is different than the typical stud and drywall walls. The construction crew and finishing crews were respectful, efficient, and finished earlier than the estimated time frame. We are very happy with the product and the service.

Matrix did fantastic work in finishing our basement. The entire team was professional and reliable during the entire process. Whenever we had questions or concerns, Matrix responded promptly and attentively. I highly recommend them for your next home improvement project.

Matrix Basement was very helpful throughout the entire project. Any questions I had during the project were quickly addressed. The install crew was extremely helpful as well. They were very accommodating to my schedule and finished about a week early. The installer put in extra time to make sure the job got done ahead a schedule. The entire staff at Matrix did a great job of always keeping me informed of each step of the install.

I got my basement finished with Matrix Basement Systems in early 2015. They worked much faster than I thought it was going to take. Every other quote I got was for more than Matrix quoted me and they were going to take at least 8 weeks, while Matrix only took 2 weeks from start to finish.



The basement looks great and I feel I got a really great quality product for my money.

After doing our due diligence with vetting a number of basement remodelers, we selected Matrix. Matrix's innovative wall system is what captivated us. We intend on staying in our home for many years to come and wanted our basement renovation to withstand as well.



From inception to completion, our Matrix team (Brian, Rodrigo and Dan) were communicative, informative, consultative and punctual. They took all precautions to be as "tidy" as they could be, which was most appreciated with a remodeling project as large as ours.



We are more than pleased with the final product! Many of our friends and family can't believe that they are in a "basement", as it presents as another comparable floor in our home.
